If I still have any readers after my 17-day absence, hi! I am so, so sorry my writing has been so sporadic lately. College is a crazy time, and life has been moving a mile a minute since my last post. I’ve had tests, exams, and papers to write- plus I try to keep up some form of a social life! But writing is a crucial creative outlet for me, so I’m really trying to get back into it and keep myself to a schedule. I really want to grow this blog and increase my traffic, and I know the only way to do that is by actually posting!
My summer this year will be four full months, plus a week at the end of April (shoutout to Michigan for having a killer school schedule!) I’m so looking forward to spending a lot of that time working on making my blog the space I want it to be, as well as relaxing after a crazy first year of college! I hope to write a lot this summer on the transition to college to help out anyone who’s going through it, because it was something that was really hard for me. (Parents of anyone going off to college this fall, please feel free to get in touch with me and I’d be happy to share any advice I can give!)
I’m struggling to find my voice on this blog, and I spend a lot of time thinking about how my posts will read to my intended audience. That’s something that probably comes from my writing for Odyssey as well as on here, because those posts are all about getting widely read and going viral. I want this blog to be authentically me and feel natural every time I write a post, so that’s something I’m really going to work on. I’m trying to give myself the freedom to write about anything I want, even if it isn’t something I think will be super popular. If you build it, they will come, so the saying goes, and I want people to come. I guess that means I need to build.
So, here’s to building! I’m really excited about what the future holds for me and this blog, and I’m excited to get back into a rhythm of writing and posting content on here!
